QXO for Veterans
2025 Winners
A North American initiative to support veterans and their families.
Elmer

Elmer

U.S. Army
Pennsylvania

Elmer, an Army veteran and one of the last members of the 157th Combat Engineers Company A, is facing pressure locally by the delayed home repairs. Since fall 2023, his house has received violations while his son, who is a contractor, paused work work to make repairs, spending $30,000+ on roofing and siding. Despite progress, fines exceed $2,000, legal help is out of reach, and the stress is now affecting Elmer’s health.

Gerald

Gerald

U.S. Army | National Guard
Oregon

Jerry is a man of exceptional integrity whom I’ve known for 30 years. A decorated Iraqi War veteran and Master Scouter, he achieved the highest enlisted rank while earning multiple Oregon State awards. Currently a disabled veteran, Jerry remains deeply active in his family, church, and the Troutdale/Gresham communities. His lifelong commitment to leadership and service makes him truly deserving of this support.

Gregory

Gregory

U.S. Air Force
New Jersey

Gregory, an Air Force Staff Sergeant (1975–1979), has a service-connected retinal injury that affects his vision. He is the primary caregiver for his disabled daughter and his spouse, who is wheelchair-bound with a broken femur. Their 50-year-old home has a second roof over 30 years old that urgently needs replacement. Ongoing family health challenges prevent him from arranging repairs, and assistance would ease a heavy burden on this devoted caregiver.
James

James

Military Veteran
California

James is a kind-hearted veteran who lacks the family or financial support needed to maintain his home. To prevent damaging leaks during the upcoming rainy season, he urgently requires a new roof. Providing this essential repair would serve as a meaningful way to thank him for his dedicated service to our country and ensure he has a safe place to live.

Jared

Jared

U.S. Air Force
Pennsylvania

Clayton, a Marine combat correspondent and Air Force member with nearly 14 years of service, nominates his friend and fellow Marine, Jared, for the 2025 QXO for Veterans Program. After his Air Force veteran father’s suicide in 2014, Jared has supported his mother, raised a newborn, run a landscaping business, and renovated his family home. His selflessness and resilience make him deserving of assistance, including a new roof for his home.
Kenneth

Kenneth

U.S. Marine Corps
Oklahoma

Kenny is a remarkable individual and a two-time Purple Heart recipient. For several years, his roof has suffered severe storm damage, including a Father’s Day 2023 event where 100 mph winds damaged nearly every shingle. Despite repeated insurance claim denials, Kenny’s friend, Duane, regularly replaces the roof tarp to prevent interior damage. This decorated veteran deserves a safe, permanent solution for his home.

Scott

Scott

U.S. Navy
Florida

Since retiring from the Navy Seabees, Scott has cared for his elderly parents while serving fellow veterans. He founded AMVETS Post 420 in Cantonment to connect veterans with resources and volunteers to build ramps, widen doorways, and make home repairs. Though his own roof needs work, he puts others first—even traveling to California to help wildfire victims—showing ongoing, selfless dedication to veterans and his community.

Sterling

Sterling

Military Veteran
Louisiana

This nomination honors a Vietnam Veteran and preacher with over 50 years of selfless ministry. From mission trips to hospital visits, he has tirelessly served God and his community. Now battling Alzheimer’s, his deteriorating home poses urgent safety risks. Replacing his roof would restore stability and provide a safe haven for this dedicated servant, rightfully honoring his lifelong commitment to faith, country, and the lives he has touched.

Victor

Victor

U.S. Marine Corps
Minnesota

Brittanie is nominating her husband, Victor, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran (2003–2007), who is 100% disabled from service-related injuries. He lives with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain, straining family stability. Their roof has active leaks, water damage, and bee infestations, creating unsafe conditions. A new roof would restore safety and peace of mind, helping Victor focus on his health and supporting their children.

American Legion

American Legion

Post 175
North Carolina

Established in 1956 through a historic donation by African American business leaders, Weaver McLean American Legion Post 175 is a vital community pillar in need of major restoration. The aging facility lacks ADA compliance, barring many veterans from attending events. Renovations would create a welcoming, accessible space featuring temporary housing for displaced veterans, a food pantry, and a community room, honoring its significant legacy of advocacy and service.
National Veterans Homeless Support

Homeless Support

National Veterans Homeless Support
Florida

Since 2008, National Veterans Homeless Support (NVHS) has worked to eliminate veteran homelessness in Central Florida. They have remarkably reduced Brevard County’s homeless veteran population by 90%. Last year alone, NVHS served over 400 veterans through outreach and housing services. Highly rated for transparency, the organization remains a vital lifeline as rising living costs continue to threaten low-income veterans and their families.
Royal Legion

Legion Royale

Branch 173
Quebec

Founded in 1948, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 173 supports over 200 members, including 100+ veterans transitioning to civilian life. Serving Montreal East and Pointe-aux-Trembles, this volunteer-run branch hosts community events and maintains a historic, recently renovated facility. Their mission focuses on veteran assistance and local outreach, ensuring long-term sustainability through dedicated service and ongoing building upgrades to benefit the wider Quebec community.
